Baker/Pastry Chef

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Baker/Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with the ability to create visually appealing and delicious desserts. This role involves preparing a variety of baked goods, decorating cakes, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Baker/Pastry Chef will work closely with our kitchen staff to deliver exceptional desserts that enhance our customer's experience.

Duties

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
• Decorate cakes and pastries with creative designs using various techniques such as piping, fondant, and glazing
• Ensure all baked goods meet quality and presentation standards before serving or packaging
• Assist in food preparation tasks including mixing, portioning, and assembling ingredients
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station in compliance with food safety regulations
• Package desserts for orders with attention to detail
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan and develop new pastry items
• Follow all food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Experience

• Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts within a restaurant or bakery setting
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques specific to the food industry, including baking and cooking methods
• Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Experience in kitchen operations, including food packaging and presentation
• Strong communication skills to interact positively with all team members
• Previous bakery experience is required; a passion for baking and culinary arts is essential
