Bar General Manager
Rural Irish Pub & Guest Accommodation - Lifestyle Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Bar General Manager to lead a well-established rural Irish pub with guest accommodation, under new ownership. The property includes
seven guest bedrooms and is centrally located in a village with strong seasonal tourism.
The new owners have a vision to develop the business into a destination venue that blends authentic Irish pub culture, great food, and elevated accommodation. This role is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a rural setting and enjoys building standards, teams, and guest experiences from the ground up.

business. There is scope for the Manager’s partner to work in the business, making this role
potentially suitable for hospitality couples.
Key Responsibilities
Full operational management of the pub, bar, and guest accommodation
Leadership of day-to-day hospitality operations
Recruitment, training, scheduling, and development of staff
Deliver exceptional customer service and guest experience
Maintain high standards across bar service, food, and accommodation
Stock control, ordering, supplier management, and cost control
Cash handling, financial reporting, and margin management
Ensure compliance with licensing laws, HACCP, health & safety, and employment
legislation
Coordinate seasonal trading, promotions, and events
Oversee maintenance, cleanliness, and presentation of the property
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience as a General Manager, Pub Manager, or Senior Hospitality
Manager
Strong people management and leadership skills
Excellent understanding of bar operations and customer service
Commercial awareness, budgeting, and cost control experience
Knowledge of Irish licensing laws and health & safety regulations
Highly organised, hands-on, and adaptable
Desirable Experience
Experience managing guest accommodation, B&B, or small hotel
Passion for Irish pub culture, food, and tourism
Experience working in rural hospitality or community-based venues
Experience developing or improving a hospitality business
