Bar Manager

CB Entertainment Limited is currently seeking a full-time, professional Bar Manager in Canterbury region.

As a Bar Manager your key tasks will be:

• Managing the business aspects of the bar, such as keeping a current liquor license, negotiating supplier contracts, taking inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals.
• Hiring and training staff to provide excellent service to patrons.
• Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that bar is well staffed during peak hours.
• Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls.
• Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for patrons.
• Ensuring licenses are updated and in line with current legislation.
• Working with diverse personalities both on the staff and patrons.
• Maximizing sales through food and beverage
• Interacting with customers, taking orders and serving snacks and drinks
• Comply with the company’s legal obligations with respect to the Sales of Alcohol legislation
• Ordering/ re-ordering of stock as per the need.

This is a minimum 30 hours per week role.

The suitable candidate:

• Minimum 1 year of relevant bar experience or a Level 5 or above qualification in a related field.
• LCQ certification is mandatory.
• Duty Manager certificate is highly preferred.
• Drug test required.
• Availability to work 7 days according to business needs, including Weekends and late evening shifts.
• Strong understanding of business management and accounting principles.
• Excellent computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Weekend availability
