Job Summary
The Merchandise Planner, Box supports FabFitFun’s Box Subscription business by leading seasonal box planning, inventory management, and merchandise performance analysis. This role is responsible for building and managing financial plans, forecasting inventory needs, monitoring in-season performance, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure product and inventory strategies align with business goals.
The Merchandise Planner owns both pre-season and in-season planning for Seasonal Box and Monthly Beauty Box assortments, including forecasting, open-to-buy (OTB) management, and monthly reforecasting. This role works closely with Merchandising, Operations, Site Merchandising, Warehouse, Marketing, and Finance to optimize inventory flow, maximize sales and margin performance, and reduce excess inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Box Planning: Manages Seasonal Box and oversees Monthly Beauty Box both pre-season and in-season. Includes monthly reforecasting and quarterly OTB. Excel skills necessary.
- In-season Inventory Management: monitors weekly performance to address inventory concerns. Works cross-functionally with Planning team, Ops, Site Merch, Warehouse, and Marketing on various strategies to deplete inventory
- Cross-Functional Process & Reporting: Maintains planning files and systems to support the Merch Strategy team. Supports ad hoc analysis and administrative tasks as needed.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The Merchandise Planner role at FabFitfun supports the Box Subscription business and Merch Strategy team. This role requires independent management of financial plans, inventory strategies, and cross-functional partnerships.
● Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Retail Math, OTB management, and inventory management
● Financial and Business Acumen: Experience managing sales, margin, and inventory targets. Ability to reconcile plans to actuals and adjust strategies in-season to meet financial goals.
● Problem Solving and Decision Quality: Ability to identify problems in advance and work with manager to implement potential solutions
● Cross-Functional Partnership: Proven ability to collaborate with Finance, Ops, Buyers, Warehouse, and Marketing to align on inventory strategies, sales targets, and go-to-market execution.
● Problem Solving and Decision Quality: Proactively identifies risks (sellout, excess, product expiration) and develops solutions independently, escalating to Director as needed.
● Planning and Priority Setting: Manages multiple concurrent workstreams (pre-season planning, in-season planning, post-season hindsighting) with strong time management and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
● Process Management: Maintains a high standard of accuracy across planning files, systems, and reporting. Drives process improvements where needed.
● Systems and Tools: Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivots, modeling). Utilizes AI for tasks and analysis. Comfortable learning new tools quickly.
Qualifications
- 4+ years work experience, preferable in Merchandise Planning and/or Buying Experience supporting subscription-based, retail, or e-commerce customers is a strong advantage
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to multitask and navigate multiple systems simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Pay: Php25,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per month
