Role Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new BPO revenue by establishing and growing new client relationships and for overseeing the Business Development Marketing function that supports pipeline generation.
This is a hands-on, quota-carrying sales leadership role. The Business Development Manager is expected to establish and grow new client relationships, personally close new business, and hold marketing resources accountable for producing qualified sales opportunities. Marketing exists to support sales execution, not to operate independently.
This role requires proven BPO sales capability, strong deal ownership, and comfort working directly with ownership.
Core Responsibilities
A. New Client Development & Relationship Growth
- Identify, target, and close new BPO clients by establishing and growing long term client relationships (call center, outsourcing, back-office, sales and support programs)
- Actively prospect via LinkedIn, email, referrals, partners, and direct outreach
- Build and manage a qualified, decision-maker-level sales pipeline
- Lead discovery calls, solution presentations, and commercial discussions with U.S. and international clients
- Prepare proposals, pricing models, scopes of work, and ramp-up plans
- Negotiate and close client agreements
- Own the client relationship and sales cycle end-to-end, from first contact through signed contract, and operational handoff
B. Management & Oversight of Business Development Marketing
- Oversee the Business Development Marketing role, with responsibility for direction, prioritization, and performance as the function evolves.
- Define, track and enforce clear KPIs for marketing performance, including:
- Lead volume
- Lead quality
- Conversion to sales-qualified opportunities
- Ensure marketing activities are sales-driven, including:
- LinkedIn outreach campaigns
- Email campaigns
- Lead list development
- Partner outreach support
- Approve messaging, targeting, and positioning to ensure alignment with actual BPO capabilities
- Eliminate non-performing campaigns, vanity metrics, and activity without revenue impact
C. Sales Execution & Pipeline Management
- Maintain accurate and up to date CRM records for all opportunities
- Forecast revenue and report pipeline status to ownership
- Ensure clean handoff of closed deals to operations
- Prevent over-promising or misaligned sales commitments
- Track early client performance and retention during the first 90-180 days
D. Client & Partner Development
- Build relationships with referral partners, brokers, and channel partners
- Support ownership in strategic business development initiatives
- Represent Uplift Global BPO professionally in sales calls, virtual meetings, and industry discussions
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+years of BPO sales or outsourcing sales experience
- Demonstrated track record of closing new BPO clients
- Experience managing or overseeing a sales-support or marketing function
- Strong understanding of offshore BPO delivery models and call center operations
- Working knowledge of per-seat, per- hour, and FTE pricing structures
- Excellent spoken and written English (U.S.-level)
- Comfort selling to U.S. based executives and founders
- Strong accountability mindset with a focus on measurable results

- CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
- Experience working directly with ownership or founders
- Proven ability to correct or rebuild underperforming marketing efforts

Compensation
- Base Salary: ₱90,000 – ₱140,000 (depending on experience)
- Commission: Uncapped, performance based
- Incentives: Additional bonuses for retained, scalable accounts

Score Bands
- 90–100% → Top Performer (bonus + increased authority)
- 75–89% → Acceptable (maintain role)
- 60–74% → At risk (30-day improvement plan)
- Below 60% → Replace
Non-Negotiable Expectations
- BD owns marketing results
- Marketing supports sales—not the other way around
- Activity without revenue is failure
- Excuses are irrelevant; numbers decide
Weekly Mandatory Dashboard (1 Page)
Every Monday, BD must submit:
- New leads generated
- SQLs accepted/rejected
- Opportunities created
- Deals closed
- MRC added
- Forecast for next 30 / 60 / 90 days
No dashboard = no performance discussion.
