The Operation teams at Shopee covers the operational end-to-end process, from when the buyer searches for a product listed on the Shopee platform, to the moment the buyer receives the products. The team analyses and monitors operational KPIs across the region and conducts root cause analysis when operation performance fluctuates. The Operations team comprises Customer Service, Payment, Listings, Warehouse, Logistics, Seller Operations and Fraud.
Job Description:
The Shopee Regional SPX team is committed to providing Shopee users with the best e-commerce logistics experience in the most cost-effective way. Positioned at the intersection of Business, Operations, and Product, the team uses data-driven insights to optimise logistics performance and support strategic decision-making across the network.
With access to large-scale operational data, the team identifies inefficiencies, improves processes, and helps shape how the business scales.
As a Business Planning Intern, you will work on analysing business and operational performance, uncovering insights from data, and supporting planning initiatives across the region.
This role is suited for individuals who enjoy working with data, breaking down ambiguous problems, and translating analysis into real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends, performance gaps, and key drivers impacting business outcomes
- Conduct structured deep-dives into operational issues to identify root causes and propose data-driven solutions
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical models to support decision-making
- Support forecasting, target setting, and planning processes with data-backed insights
- Work with Operations and cross-functional teams to understand business context and translate insights into actionable initiatives
- Support simple automation or data analysis tasks using Python or SQL, including AI-assisted workflows using LLMs (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini)
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or above in any related discipline
- Proficiency in Python and/or SQL
- Familiarity with automation or AI tools is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems into structured, actionable steps
- Comfortable working with large datasets and deriving insights from data
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across diverse stakeholders
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
