Business Systems & Platforms Intern

About the role

As a Business Systems and Platforms Intern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in how we design, deliver, and support technology solutions that create real business value. You’ll be actively involved in supporting delivery activities, improving visibility of work, and identifying opportunities to improve how we operate across the delivery lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain delivery information by tracking work status, key milestones, risks, actions, and dependencies ensuring delivery information is easy to find and understand.
  • Support reporting automation and productivity improvements by streamlining recurring updates and converting manual reporting steps into simple, repeatable processes.
Help turn delivery data into insights, support project rhythms, and learn how strong governance and collaboration enable teams to deliver real business outcomes.

About you

You are studying, or have completed studies in IT disciplines such as AI, Data visualisation, Project Management and Information Systems. You have a keen interest in agile delivery, process experience, delivery experience and UX design and delivery outcomes for customers. You bring strong written and verbal communication skills, enjoy collaborating with others, and can clearly articulate ideas and concepts. You’re able to work independently while knowing when to ask for support, quick to pick up new tasks, and comfortable using Jira and Power BI and excel or equivalent.

Our internship programme offers
  • 12-weeks paid work at living wage starting in November based in Māngere, Auckland.
  • Renowned learning and development sessions fortnightly.

  • The opportunity to tackle real-world business problems that help us achieve our aspiration – to help New Zealanders get more out of life.
  • Modern office spaces with free parking, subsidised lunches, flexible working, weekly supplier tastings and regular celebrations.
  • 5% in store and online discount in our supermarkets.
We’re looking for someone who is interested in discovering their career with us.
You’ll have a curiosity to learn, a knack for problem solving and be ready to get stuck in to making a positive impact on New Zealand communities. You’ll ideally be interested in one of the above areas listed and in our application form, you’ll have the opportunity to indicate your preferred roles (you don’t necessarily need to be studying something that is aligned).
