Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium is looking for a Carpenter to join our Engineering team.

As Carpenter, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Maintain furniture and other elements of carpentry repair works in the guest room, meeting rooms, and all public areas, including the back of the house.
- Construct, install, and repair wooden fixtures like cabinets, shelves, sliding doors, coffee tables, panels, and wallboard.
- Fixing and adjusting wooden or glass doors, locks, and windows.
- Carry out furniture and woodwork touch-ups, refinishing, and restoration.
- Surface finishing: repairing and sanding wooden floors, repairing plasterboard defects, and minor repairs on timber structures.
- Conduct preventive maintenance projects across the hotel, including wellness and restaurant facilities. Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back of house.
- Maintain workshop organization, manage inventory, and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working condition.
- Adhere to all Fire, Life, Health, and Safety Standards; use PPE appropriately.
As Carpenter we expect from you:
- 2-3 years of work experience in a similar role (preferably in hotels);
- Fundamental knowledge in carpentry techniques, such as cutting, assembling, repairing, adjusting and finishing wood, laminates, and composite materials.
- Operates various types of woodworking machines and electrical hand tools and materials.
- Ability to work independent and learn on the job;
- A good level of English;
