Cashier / Baker Assistant

Job Overview
A customer-focused and energetic team member who plays a dual role in delivering exceptional service and supporting daily donut bakery operations. This position involves greeting guests, processing transactions accurately, and assisting with the preparation, packaging, and display of donuts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and contributes to a welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities include operating POS systems, restocking inventory, collaborating with bakers, and ensuring a smooth flow between front-of-house and kitchen activities.

Responsibilities

Customer Interaction & Sales

• Greet customers with a warm, friendly attitude and assist with donut selections
• Answer questions about flavors, ingredients, and daily specials
• Upsell combo deals, beverages, or seasonal items to boost sales
• Operate POS systems to process cash, card, and mobile payments accurately

Donut Preparation & Display

• Assist in glazing, filling, and decorating donuts as needed
• Package donuts neatly for takeout orders and display cases
• Restock trays and rotate inventory to ensure freshness
• Monitor product levels and communicate with bakers to replenish stock

Cleanliness & Food Safety

• Maintain a clean and sanitary checkout and prep area
• Follow food safety guidelines for handling baked goods
• Dispose of expired or damaged products appropriately
• Assist with daily and end-of-shift cleaning routines

Team Support & Efficiency

• Collaborate with bakers and fellow staff during rush hours
• Help track ingredient usage and report low inventory
• Support opening and closing procedures, including cash drawer reconciliation
• Answer questions about flavors, ingredients, and daily specials

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
