Duties

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions efficiently and securely
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product information or demos when needed
• Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and perform cash handling with precision and integrity
• Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, restock shelves, and ensure products are well-presented through merchandising and stocking
• Upsell products by suggesting complementary items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when taking orders or assisting customers over the phone

Skills

• Proficiency in using POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transactions
• Prior supervising experience is a plus for guiding team members during busy periods
• Ability to conduct product demos confidently to educate customers about features and benefits
• Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with diverse customer groups are highly valued
• Excellent communication skills to engage with customers professionally and courteously
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, retail sales techniques, and merchandising strategies
• Strong organizational skills for stocking shelves, managing inventory, and maintaining store cleanliness
