Catering And Hospitality Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepares food for special events in accordance with customer requests.

· Follows applicable sanitation procedures with respect to personal hygiene, proper hand washing, food preparation and service, etc.

· Create and maintain an environment of hospitality ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing concerns quickly, solving guest issues with professionalism and while promoting positive morale and friendly attitude at all times.

· Preparing the banquet room or area for the event. Arranges buffet tables with decoration, food, beverage and service items according to standards.

· Assist with set up and break down of special events.

· Sets up and serves at events; inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all areas are clean during and after events; breaks down the setup and leaves the area neat and clean.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization and stocking of dining areas, catering and other storage rooms and equipment.

· Have excellent attention to detail and service knowledge.

· Communicate any maintenance and housekeeping needs to maintenance, housekeeping and/or management.

· Arrives at work when scheduled.

· Willing to be flexible

· Willing to work weekends and holidays as needed

· May include both AM and PM shifts.

· Work until shift ends

· Other duties to include: Filling in at Reception Desk and Thrift Store. Answering phones, greeting and directing guests.

· Maintains open communication with supervisor. Works well with other employees by asking for help when needed and assisting others as needed.

· Work with other employees to complete assignments as directed by the VP of Facilities.

· Willing to discuss Food Service needs with Supervisor.

· Makes effort to correct problems when given constructive criticism.

· Ability to follow instructions without supervisor being present. Continues high quality work when supervisor is absent.

· Complete all job responsibilities.

· Stay on schedule with meal and hour breaks.

· Update supervisor with information about shift.

· Maintains a safe and healthy work environment.

· Leadership: Role model and mentor for staff as indicated by:

· Takes initiative to implement good practice and meet licensing and accreditation standards.

· Interacts professionally and cooperatively with other parts of the agency (i.e. Human Resources, Finance, etc.)

· Completes assignments in a timely and accurate manner.

· Have the ability to work an online platform to access the events calendar.

· Basic knowledge to run, start, setup a/v needs in event rooms (i.e. zoom, teams PowerPoint etc.).

· Is willing to take on additional responsibility in a positive manner.

· Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans as indicated by:

· Identifies training appropriate to this position.

· Takes responsibility for scheduling and attending appropriate training.

· Upholds the mission and values of The Methodist Home.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

· Minimum of a High School diploma.

· Demonstrated experience in catering and hospitality.

· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

· Must possess the ability to identify problems, evaluate options and implement solutions.

· Ability to meet and handle the public with poise and tact.

· Pleasant telephone voice.

· Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.

· Valid Georgia Drivers License.

· The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

· The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

· Ability to understand and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency.

· Ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with other personnel and residents.

· Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural difference in the service population.

Essential Physical Requirements:

· Duties are performed in a variety of environments ranging from highly stressful to calm and leisurely.

· Duties include the need for physical dexterity including fine motor skills, rotating of wrists and/or arms.

· Duties include pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying, stooping, bending and/or prolonged standing.

· Duties include the ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds).

· Duties may also be performed both indoors and outdoors.

· The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

· The ability to see details at a distance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.56 per hour
