Position Summary:
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating event revenue for the hotel by selling meeting space, catering services and small guest room blocks.
Accurately details all client events including Food & Beverage, Audio Visual, Room Setup, and guest room blocks. This role serves as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments to ensure seamless planning and execution of meetings, conferences, weddings and social events while maximizing revenue and guest satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- · Prospect, solicit and secure new catering and event business
· Responsible for generation of banquet revenues to meet and exceed budgets
· Handle incoming inquiries for meetings and guestroom space and conduct site tours
· Quote and negotiate contracts and rates within established parameters
· Prepare proposals, contracts and event estimates
· Accurately confirm all bookings
· Ensure all payments and deposits are received according to contract specifications
· Detail Banquet Event Orders to include food and beverage, facility set-up, special client requests and distribution to all departments
· Communicate event requirements clearly to culinary, banquet and operations teams
· Serve as the primary point of contact from inquiry through event completion
· Conduct pre-event planning meetings and post-event follow ups
· Review charges with client to ensure accuracy on billing
· Re-solicit for future business
· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors and partners
· Resolve client concerns promptly and professionally
· Attend weekly BEO Meetings
· Maintain Salesforce Delphi System to ensure accurate up-to-date client tracking i.e. follow up tasks, comments pertaining to individual departments, and re-solicitation
· Forecast catering and sales revenue and track booking pace
· Participate in weekly sales meetings and reporting
· Assist with budgeting, promotions, and sales strategies
· Provide Month End overview
· Be on site to meet with clients during their events to ensure standards of service are met
· Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
· Strong communication, negotiation and organizational skills
· Proficiency with sales and catering software (e.g. Delphi/Salesforce/Opera)
· Ability to manage multiple events and deadline simultaneously
· Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
· Follow all company policies and procedures with regards to Health & Safety
· Self-motivated, team player
