Chinese Cook

Job description

Lucky Star Fast Food in Taupo is looking for some full-time Cooks to join us, mainly responsible for cooking Chinese style dishes. This is a full time permanent position, you will work 30-40 hours per week on the roster.

Key Duties include:

• examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
• regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
• preparing and cooking food
• seasoning food during cooking
• portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
• storing food in temperature controlled facilities
• preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• plan menus and estimate food requirements
• train other kitchen staff and apprentices

We expect the candidates to have:

• At least 1 year work experience in cooking Chinese cuisine or a relevant qualification at NZQF level 2
• Have the skills and knowledge to operating Chinese wok and knife
• Flexibility to work on weekend and night shifts, overtime may be required
• Drug free with a clean police record
