Kengzo Waalwijk is looking for passionate kitchen staff who want to delight our guests with the very best Chinese and Japanese dishes. Whether you already have experience or are just starting out, with us you’ll have the chance to learn from experienced chefs and help build a top-quality kitchen.

What do you bring as a chef?

• Your tasks include performing preparatory work such as washing vegetables, cutting and filleting salmon, cutting lamb chops and beef for various dishes, working in a kitchen team of about 5 colleagues under the supervision of the head chef.
• Preparing and cooking dishes while performing ongoing quality and hygiene checks.
• Preparing and checking dishes before they are handed over to the serving staff to be placed at the warming station.
• Planning daily activities, ordering food products and other stock replenishments from regular suppliers, and checking delivered ingredients.
• Supervising and instructing kitchen assistants and providing guidance where necessary.
• Cleaning your own work area, kitchen appliances, and machines daily before closing, and assisting with cleaning the entire kitchen and storing delivered goods.
• Being a good team player with a flexible attitude and strong communication skills.
• Contributing to quality improvement, menu optimization, and the development of recipes and preparation instructions.
• Required qualifications: MBO-3 level or equivalent education, with knowledge of basic cooking techniques.

What do you get in return?

• A gross monthly salary between €2600 – €3100 based on a 38-hour workweek, in accordance with the Dutch Hospitality Collective Labor Agreement, including 25 vacation days and 8% holiday allowance
• A temporary contract for at least 1 year
