Job Summary
Our Firm is looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal with 3 years minimum experience to work with our attorneys. This highly motivated person must be able to work in our Corpus Christi office. This candidate must have trial experience handling personal injury, more specifically but not limited to, product & premises liability, accidental death, motor vehicle accidents, and other similar injury torts. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal assistance to attorneys in the preparation of cases, including researching and analyzing relevant laws, preparing legal documents, and assisting in trial preparation. This includes attendance at trials to assist our attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the legal system, actual trial experience, excellent organizational skill, and the ability to work independently and as a part of our team.
Responsibilities
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motion, and briefs;
- Conduct legal research and cite-check legal documents;
- Assist attorneys in preparation for hearings, trials, and depositions;
- Organize and maintain files;
- Prepare discovery requests and responses, including all materials used in discovery;
- Manage the filing of documents with the Court;
- Participate in trial preparation and execution (may require limited travel);
- Participate in every aspect of the litigation of a case from inception to disbursement.
Skills
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong understanding of civil litigation processes.
- Familiarity with document review and case management software including Filevine.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Attention to detail in proofreading and document review tasks.
- Effective interviewing skills for client interactions and factual investigations.
- Knowledge of various practice areas such as personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, familiarity with legal administrative processes is preferred.
- Ability to handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, transcription, and maintaining document management systems.
