Skillford and co limited is seeking an experienced Class 5 Driver to join our team in Christchurch, Canterbury. We have part time and full-time positions which will involve driving large trucks and towing trailers on both regional and long-haul routes, alongside civil works that we also have on offer. You will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods across the South Island.

Skillford and co limited is seeking an experienced Class 5 Driver to join our team in Christchurch, Canterbury. We have part time and full-time positions which will involve driving large trucks and towing trailers on both regional and long-haul routes, alongside civil works that we also have on offer. You will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods across the South Island.
What you'll be doing
- Operate a range of Class 5 vehicles, including rigid trucks, semi-trailers and B-trains
- Adhere to all road rules, safety protocols and company policies
- Inspect vehicles and report any issues or maintenance needs
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring safe and efficient operations
- Maintain accurate trip logs and documentation
- Deliver goods on time and in excellent condition
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients
- A current Class 5 driver's licence with a minimum of 3 years' experience
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of safe driving practices
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
