Cnc Machinist

General Summary:

Under minimal supervision of the Manufacturing Managers, must be able to set-up and operate manual lathes, CNC lathe, vertical mills, horizontal mills to manufacture all types of components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Understanding of G-code/M-code formatting for programing

· Program, edit and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency

· Initial machine setup

· Part indicating

· Read blueprints

· Utilize measurement equipment

· First piece quality inspection

· Programming tooling adjustment and monitoring

· Reviews product design for compliance with company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications

· Measures machined and non-machined components during production to ensure compliance with design specifications

· Troubleshoot and resolve machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime and delays

· Manages several moderately complex projects at one time

· Handles all changes and problems related to assigned projects

· Assist elsewhere as required

Qualifications

· Must have experience on manual lathe and vertical mill.

· Must have experience on CNC lathe

· Must have experience with G-code/M-code

· Knowledge standard manufacturing procedures

· Must be able to work with minimal supervision

· Good interpersonal skills in order to work in cross-functional teams

· Strong background in material selection and application

· Good working knowledge physical properties of metal

Education and / or Experience:

· Machining and manufacturing plus at least 5 year directly related experience

· An equivalent combination of education and experience

Language Skills:

· Excellent oral, written and communication skills

Physical Demands:

· Must be highly safety conscious

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
