Concrete Foreman

Overview
Nexco Construction is a heavy civil construction company specializing in site development, excavation and road building. We are growing and looking to expand our services and team accordingly. Nexco is based out of Dartmouth, NS and completes projects across mainland Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead crew members, providing guidance, instruction, and support.
• Build and setup concrete forms for foundations and frost walls.
• Pour concrete and finish as per design.
• Operate and maintain equipment; concrete tools, power tools and misc. small equipment.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure proper project execution.
• Work with other divisions within the company to complete projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Utilize construction management software HCSS for project safety, employee timecards and production tracking.
• Maintain quality control throughout the concrete pouring process to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Engage in budgeting discussions related to materials and labor for concrete projects.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration among crew members.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in concrete foreman is preferred.
• Experience forming and pouring curbs and sidewalks is considered an asset.
• Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of specifications.
• Experience using construction management software, particularly HCSS or similar, is advantageous.
• Knowledge of quality control processes in construction is essential.
• Ability to supervise and mentor less experienced workers effectively.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00-$40.00 per hour
