Job Description

Global Cybersecurity (GCS) protects State Street and its clients from the impact of cyber-attacks against systems by understanding the risks these attacks present and mitigating them through a robust, continuously evolving, cybersecurity program and control environment. Cybersecurity Architecture & Engineering (Cyber A&E) is one of five verticals that compose GCS. Its core emphasis is on building the next generation of security tools and methods that protect the bank and its clients. Cyber A&E designs and builds strong security building blocks, enhances application security, secures, and modernizes identity management, standardizes security engineering practices, validates security controls and alert systems through automation, and builds highly skilled engineering teams to address dynamic challenges. Be part of the team responsible for building and managing shared cyber data platform and data product engineering capabilities. Cyber Data & Analytics is considered the security data team for Cyber A&E and focuses data product engineering on cybersecurity science, security observability, attack surface/threat modeling, anomaly detection, identity, privilege, and user/entity behavior analysis. Its mission is to enable critical cybersecurity data and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) capabilities that allow Cyber A&E to organize, model, and interpret cybersecurity-related data across the organization and to build predictive models/intelligent systems that help secure State Street’s information and infrastructure. As part of Cyber Data & Analytics, your responsibilities will include:
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting cybersecurity data from various sources
  • Collaborate with the Cyber Data & Analytics team to learn about and optimize solutions. Help respond to security events and incidents
  • Gain exposure to a range of industry leading tools and platforms including, but not limited to, Splunk, Cribl, Databricks, AWS/Azure cloud, Python, FastAPI, React, Postgres, Kong, and Kuma
  • Contribute to the creation of cybersecurity reports and dashboards to communicate insights and trends to stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in cybersecurity data analytics and contribute innovative ideas to enhance data-driven strategies
  • Maintain clear and organized documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Computer programming and systems design classes completed
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, tools, and technologies
  • Experience or knowledge on any of the following tools/platforms: Splunk, Cribl, Databricks, AWS/Azure cloud, Python, FastAPI, React, Postgres, Kong, and Kuma
  • Knowledge of SIEM concepts and tools (i.e., Splunk)
Required Qualifications:
  • Computer science, data science, cybersecurity, information technology, or business major
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (i.e., Python)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (i.e., AWS and Azure)
  • Eagerness to learn and explore modern technologies and methodologies
  • Confidence with written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work successfully in an initiative-taking environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Deadline driven
