Position Overview
This position is responsible for leading CIS NOVA’s data evaluation, ensuring data integrity across all programs and driving data informed decision making to advance the CIS mission. This position oversees data management systems, reporting infrastructure, and plays a key role in coaching staff to use data effectively to improve outcomes and support organizational effectiveness.
Reporting to the Vice President and COO, the Data Analyst will provide strategic leadership for all data-related and reporting functions, developing and implementing onboarding, ongoing learning and development for the effective use of CIS Data Management System (CISDM), establishing data quality standards and managing special projects that translate data insights into actionable strategies to drive student success.

Improving attendance, behavior and academic achievement , in addition to parent and family engagement, are the cornerstones of our work. Our school-based site coordinators identify students in danger of not achieving their potential, assess student needs and provide wrap-around interventions and resources to change the picture of education one student at a time.
The Data Analyst position will focus on data strategy - quality, management, evaluation and reporting support in implementing the CIS Model of Integrated Student Supports with fidelity at all schools and maintaining national accreditation.
CIS NOVA Student Profile
CIS NOVA targets under-resourced, English language learners, low income and first generation college students facing barriers to academic achievement and post secondary access.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent CIS NOVA as a professional representative supporting the mission and goals of the organization.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with CIS NOVA goals.
- Champion a culture of data informed practice by establishing and maintaining data governance policies, procedures and standards across CIS NOVA.
- Collaborate with Program Managers to provide ongoing supervision, feedback, one on one coaching, mentoring, and counseling of Site Coordinators regarding data strategy.
- Oversee the administration and optimization of CISDM (Communities In Schools Data Management System) and other data systems including school based and SEL platforms.
- Ensure data security, privacy compliance and adherence to all relevant regulations and policies.
- Ensure data quality and integrity via system audits, key performance indicators to assess data completeness and accuracy to ensure quality standards.
- Responsible for designing and producing affiliate level reports and a dashboard for internal and external stakeholders. Conduct data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for program improvement.
- Responsible for professional development related to data literacy, systems proficiency, and data evaluation. This includes but is not limited to training materials, job aids, workshops and one on one support to build capacity for continuous improvement through data use.
- Represent CIS NOVA, when feasible, on state, national and network initiatives.
- Perform other duties necessary for the successful operation of CIS NOVA as assigned.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and car and have the ability to visit school sites as needed.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
