All about the role

At Just Eat Takeaway, we are looking for a Master’s student to join our User Behaviour Analytics team in Amsterdam as an intern for their thesis project. You will work closely with data scientists and engineers across Analytics and Product, focusing on user behavior and segmentation. Reporting into the User Behaviour Analytics Manager, you’ll have the chance to apply cutting-edge methods on large-scale behavioral and marketing datasets.

Location: Hybrid - 3 days a week from our Amsterdam office & 2 days working from home (prorated to hours)

These are some of the key ingredients to the role

• Conduct research on user journeys across marketing touchpoints, app interactions, and transactions.
• Develop user embeddings and clustering models on behavioral data to uncover new behavioral segments.
• Compare and evaluate different modeling approaches, aiming for both technical rigor and business relevance.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers to ensure outcomes are impactful and actionable.
• Share progress and insights regularly, contributing to a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

What will you bring to the table?

• You are enrolled as a student for the whole duration of the internship
• A University Bachelor’s Degree. And you’re in the final phase of your Master’s Degree in Data Science, Information Science, or a related field.
• A strong research mentality, curiosity to explore new methods, and drive to push boundaries in customer understanding.
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, and data analysis/visualization (e.g., pandas, matplotlib, seaborn).
• Interest in modern machine learning approaches related to embeddings, clustering, and sequence modeling.
• Collaborative mindset, interest to work with data scientists and engineers to deliver impact.
