The Demand Planner 1 role is responsible for developing and maintaining demand forecasts for assigned products. Work under direct supervision of the Demand Planning Manager, focussing on the tactical aspects of the role and using historical data and enterprise forecasting models to create a baseline for future demand, collaborating with cross-functional teams e.g. sales, marketing, and supply chain to gather input and ensure the forecast is accurate.
Reports to: Manager, Demand Planning
Responsibilities:
- Use enterprise tools to create, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding the global demand plan for all finished good devices across Cook Medical.
- Utilize ERP systems, statistical models, artificial intelligence, market intelligence, and input from commercial teams to evaluate and communicate the demand plan in each planning cycle.
- Collaborate with global and regional product managers to understand additional insights that may require adjusting the demand plan, such as product launches, consolidations, or other commercial priorities.
- Participate in forecast review meetings with Stakeholders including Division, Manufacturing, and Finance.
- Strive for alignment and understanding of the global strategy and demand plan for each product line and translate into short-term execution plans.
- Participate in local Sales & Operations Execution (SOE) meetings as well as global Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings.
- Analyze forecast performance using KPIs and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with supply planning to align inventory strategies with demand
- Conduct analysis of demand patterns, including trend, seasonality, and volatility.
- Look for and suggest improvements to forecasting methods and processes to enhance accuracy.
- Strive to become subject matter expert for demand planning processes and systems.
- Engage in personal development by learning from other senior planners.
- Work with Supply Planning to address supply issues, including Supplier Changes.
- Develop a strong understanding of sales and marketing strategy and process
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, e.g. Supply Chain, Business, etc, or equivalent experience
- Experience in demand planning or inventory management preferred
- Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems, e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite advantageous
- Analytical mindset with a problem solving approach
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Demonstrable communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel on company business if needed
