Position Title: Dental Office Manager

Position Summary
Down To Earth Dental is a privetly owned dental practice in Tacoma. The Dental Office Manager oversees the daily operations of the dental practice, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and a positive patient experience. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and knowledge of dental office procedures, billing, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the dental office, including scheduling, billing, and patient records.
- Supervise, train, and support front desk and administrative staff.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare regulations.
- Develop and implement office policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Coordinate staff schedules and manage time-off requests.
- Foster a welcoming environment to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews.
- Communicate regularly with dentists, hygienists, and assistants to ensure smooth operations.
- Resolve patient concerns professionally and promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in dental or medical office administration.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance processing, and dental software (Dentrix)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Skills & Competencies
- Leadership & Team Management – ability to motivate and supervise staff.
- Financial Management – understanding of billing, collections, and reporting.
- Patient Relations – compassionate and professional communication with patients.
- Technology Proficiency – experience with practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Compliance Knowledge – familiar with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards.
