Dental Receptionist/Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations of the front desk. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental procedures, and proficiency with electronic health record systems.

The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and supporting the clinical team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using Open Dental practice management software (training will be provided)
  • Answer multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
  • Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
  • Collect payments, process billing, and handle administrative paperwork
  • Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
  • Assist with patient inquiries regarding treatments and office policies
  • Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Manage correspondence, including emails and appointment reminders
  • Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked

Experience

  • Prior experience as a dental receptionist is highly preferred but we are open to train the right personality.
  • Proficiency with our dental practice management software Open Dental is a plus
  • Knowledge of dental terminology relevant to dental care is advantageous
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) and office administration systems
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing schedules and records
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with patients and staff
  • Fast computer typing is a must minumum 35–40 WPM but ideal 45–60 WPM to be a strong candidate
  • Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in front desk or administrative roles within healthcare settings is desirable

****Must have adittional skills: Chairside assistant skills and fluent in Spanish and English

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 24 per week
