Desktop Support Technician

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems and networks. This role requires a strong understanding of various technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems efficiently.
  • Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN), ensuring connectivity and performance.
  • Assist with the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of firewalls and VPNs.
  • Support Windows operating systems, including installation, updates, and user account management.
  • Configure and manage DNS settings to ensure proper network functionality.
  • Utilize help desk software to track issues, document solutions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Offer exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with users to understand their needs.
  • Collaborate with team members on computer management tasks and network troubleshooting.
  • Perform regular maintenance on systems using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to ensure optimal performance.

Skills

  • Proficient in LAN setup and management.
  • Strong understanding of computer management principles.
  • Experience with firewall configurations and VPN setups.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with DNS configurations and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proven experience in help desk support roles with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Solid understanding of computer networking concepts.
  • Experience using SCCM for system management tasks is a plus.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $29.00 - $30.00 per hour
