About the Role:
This role leads the EMEA technology function and is the primary technology leader (business unit CIO) who manages the relationships, strategy, budget, and execution between the technology organization and our EMEA business unit. This position concentrates on the creation of value from technology and the application of technology to business opportunities to maximize value and return to our company. Learns how competitors, best-in-class companies, and related industries use technology for competitive advantage. Senses business needs and proactively and collaboratively shapes an appropriate technology roadmap. Provides strategic guidance and planning development to decision makers and clarifies principles for the use of technology. Acts with urgency to ensure key initiatives are delivered. Serves as the single point of contact to the Regional President for all technology matters.
Essential Functions
  • Understands, supports, and contributes to the business vision and strategic imperatives by bringing technology requirements and constraints into the business planning process to ensure alignment. Guides/consults business leaders in the formulation of practical technology strategies and tactics. Watches for material changes in business objectives and makes necessary adjustments in technology plans. It has a leadership role in innovating and leading changes. Anticipate how business changes translate into the need for technology. Suggests and advocates changes in business processes and policies.
  • Accountable for overall satisfaction with technology. Serves as an advocate for business regarding project management, resource management, and technology services. Challenges technology and business peers as well as key external partners to facilitate optimal solutions and pricing. Provides clear and concise options for business leadership to meet key goals in a cost-effective manner. Using knowledge of technology products, services, and fulfillment processes helps identify, define, and shape the service portfolio and develop service levels.
  • Manages tech teams' execution efforts, resources, and priorities to ensure successful outcomes for specific products. Collaborates with technology peers both within international tech as well as the broader technology organization to drive alignment and successful outcomes.
  • Leads a team of regional technical specialists to focus on the right projects that helps drive overall company/regional goals.
  • Owns/Drives the budget and technology project portfolio planning, business case preparation and execution for their designated business area. Is part of the overall technology governance processes and assisting in the development and evolution of the overall enterprise technology approach and select sourcing decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years in technology management and leadership experience is required, as well as project management leadership and a history of delivering results.
  • 6+ years of supervisory experience required.
  • Successful candidate must have broad knowledge of information systems and/or digital technology with in-depth knowledge of technology service delivery and experience with business process design and optimization.
  • Financial acumen, cost management, executive influence, experience leading technology teams, experience contributing to cross-functional executive leadership teams, and managing through change are required. Ability to prioritize limited resources.
  • Experience in leading technology in retail, hospitality or restaurant industries, familiarity with POS and eCommerce platforms. Familiarity with local and regional players in EMEA technology ecosystem.
  • Advanced interpersonal, problem-solving, oral communication and written communication skills. High sense of urgency.
  • Ability to lead a team of technical experts to deliver results.
