Looking for: -
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Services Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities by coordinating and delivering a variety of services aimed at promoting independence, inclusion, and overall well-being.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services by coordinating support plans, schedules, and resources, while maintaining a client-focused approach.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate the quality of services provided, identifying areas for improvement and masking necessary adjustments to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of support plans.
- Assessing individual client needs and developing tailored educational, training, and support programs.
- Conducting in-depth interviews to comprehensively understand and evaluate the nature and extent of clients’ difficulties.
- Act as a liaison between clients, their families, support teams, and external stakeholders to facilitate clear and effective communication, addressing concerns and maintain positive relationships.
- Collaborating with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies, and private businesses to address community issues. Actively promoting awareness of community resources and services.
- Evaluating community needs and available resources across various domains like health, welfare, housing, employment, and training.
- Referring clients to relevant agencies or organizations capable of offering additional assistance and support.
- Providing essential support to families and delivering education and care for children and disabled individuals in diverse settings.
- Assisting people in resolving social, emotional, and financial problems to support their overall development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, support plans, and service delivery activities to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Apply a person-centered approach in all aspects of service delivery, recognizing and respecting the autonomy and preferences of individuals with disabilities.
- Drafting funding proposals and resource requests, as well as compiling reports for government entities and external organizations.
- Provide guidance and support to service delivery staff, helping in complex cases and promoting a supportive work environment that values professional growth.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in service delivery processes, suggest and implement enhancements, and contribute to the overall enhancement of the organization's ability to meet the diverse needs of clients with disabilities.
Skills and Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree, Advance Diploma, or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in disability services or a related field is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of person-centered approaches to service delivery.
Job Type and Salary:
- This is a full-time permanent job.
- The base salary will be AUD 75,000- AUD 80,000 plus superannuation.
Working Hours: -
- Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
