About the Role
This is a temporary position as we develop a hospital-wide methodology to support weekend discharges and establish a model for seven-day-a-week patient flow at Taranaki Base Hospital.
The role will be central to the execution of PDSA cycles as we work to enhance discharge capability. The focus will be on preparing for weekend discharge activities and supporting staff in their execution.
Work days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only

About the Team/Service/ Location
You will be part of the Integrated Operations Centre team, reporting to the IOC Nurse Manager with most of your work based in Ward 3AB and Ward 4AB. You will also work closely with our patients, their whanau, complex discharge coordinators, doctors, clinical nurse managers, and allied health teams.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered nurse who demonstrates the ability to work semi-autonomously, with a strong appreciation for teamwork, clinical assessment, risk assessment, and initiative.
Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years as a Registered Nurse,
Strong background in medical, orthopaedic, and surgical nursing
Confidence in patient advocacy and working with families
Commitment to maintaining a high standard of clinical practice
Adaptability and enthusiasm for participating in quality improvement projects
Understanding of the discharge process and acute flow principals that underpin this
