About the Role:
The Duty Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel in the absence of the Hotel Manager or Guest Experience Manager. This position ensures smooth coordination across departments, with a strong focus on Front Office operations, guest satisfaction, hotel security, and operational profitability. The Duty Manager acts as the face of the hotel, embodying its values and delivering exceptional service aligned with the brand’s vision and purpose.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee hotel operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth coordination across departments.
  • Lead and support the Front Office team, maintaining high service standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary contact for guest issues, resolving complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor staffing levels, presentation, and punctuality across all departments.
  • Maintain accurate shift records, including incidents and operational updates.
  • Maximise room occupancy and revenue through effective rate and yield strategies.
  • Promote hotel services and facilities to guests, driving upselling opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with WH&S, security protocols, and crisis management procedures.
  • Safeguard hotel assets and ensure all areas meet brand standards.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in hotel operations, particularly within Front Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage guest relations and resolve issues with professionalism.
  • Financial acumen and understanding of yield management strategies.
  • Familiarity with hotel systems, WH&S regulations, and crisis protocols.
