About the Role

The Australian Institute of Language and Further Education (AILFE) is a leading educational institution committed to providing high-quality language and vocational education to domestic and international students. We strive to empower our students with skills and knowledge that enhance their academic, professional, and personal development.

AILFE is seeking a dynamic and experienced Education Manager to lead our international academic operations and vocational training delivery. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong expertise in education management, international education, compliance, and staff leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction, administrative management, and global partnership coordination of our educational programs.

This role is critical in ensuring our institute maintains the highest standards of compliance with the VET Quality Framework and CRICOS requirements while expanding our international education footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the educational and administrative affairs of the institute’s international and vocational departments.
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational management of academic and education functions.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and review of education programs and curricula.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (including ASQA, ESOS Act, National Code, and CRICOS requirements, where applicable).
  • Lead and manage academic and administrative staff, including workload allocation, performance management, and professional development.
  • Monitor education quality, student outcomes, assessment practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement academic policies, procedures, and internal governance frameworks.
  • Coordinate international education activities, partnerships, and academic collaboration projects.
  • Analyse education data and market trends to support institutional planning and growth.
  • Oversee student academic progress, engagement, and support mechanisms.
  • Represent the institute in academic, regulatory, and stakeholder engagements as required.

About you

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education, Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8+ years of experience in educational management or international cooperation, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting global education market analysis and managing large-scale international education programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading academic teams and managing education operations.
  • Strong knowledge of education quality assurance, compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement education strategies and academic policies.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and bilingual communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex cross-cultural professional environments.
