Key Responsibilities

· Project Management

  • Plan, manage, and deliver electrical projects/contracts from inception to completion.
  • Prepare project schedules, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Monitor progress and resolve technical or commercial issues promptly.

· Client & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Attend client meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to secure repeat business.

· Financial & Commercial Control

  • Prepare tenders, quotations, and variations.
  • Manage project budgets, cost control, and profitability.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best value.

· Team & Resource Management

  • Manage and coordinate site managers, supervisors, and engineers.
  • Ensure adequate labor, materials, and equipment are available for project delivery.
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to staff.

· Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all works comply with electrical regulations, standards, and company procedures.
  • Oversee health and safety requirements and risk assessments.
  • Ensure quality control and testing procedures are implemented.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in electrical contracting, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, regulations (e.g., BS 7671), and industry standards.
  • Project management experience with the ability to oversee multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness.

· Relevant qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • ECS/CSCS card.
  • SMSTS/SSSTS (desirable).
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (preferred but not essential).
