Job Description:
About the Role:
Microchip Technology’s Ennis facility is seeking a skilled and motivated Electro‑Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team. This is a key hands‑on role supporting high‑volume manufacturing operations within a fast‑paced production environment.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team of technicians and cross‑functional partners to ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of automated production and processing equipment. You will support production throughput, deliver high‑quality maintenance, and assist engineering teams with equipment and process requirements.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on all production equipment and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Provide high-quality mechanical and electronic repairs, delivering comprehensive electro-mechanical support for all production equipment.
  • Manage product changeovers on various semiconductor automatic test, handling, and branding equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure availability and management of critical spare parts.
  • Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment issues to maintain optimal yields and throughput.
  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to diagnose and prevent recurring issues.
  • Maintain and repair automatic testers, handlers, branding equipment, electronic test systems, and supporting mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot machine electrical subsystems such as sensors, motor control units, heating and drying elements, pneumatic circuits, PLCs, and associated automation components.
  • Perform electronic repairs on test equipment, including circuit board repairs down to component level.
  • Participate in the installation, commissioning, and purchase of new equipment.
  • Carry out basic facilities maintenance tasks as required.
  • Uphold 6S housekeeping standards and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
  • Contribute to smooth day‑to‑day production operations and respond promptly to production needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Requirements & Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an electronic, equipment or machine maintenance technician, in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Certificate or Diploma in an Electro‑Mechanical or related discipline.
  • Excellent Communications Skills.
  • Strong ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Competence with Microsoft office applications is desirable.
  • Experienced working with CE marked equipment.
  • Flexible work attitude
