Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting dentists during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean and organized according to infection control protocols
- Take and develop X-rays, utilizing EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient records
- Perform chairside assisting duties while applying four-handed dentistry techniques
- Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and documenting medical history in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging and assist with medical documentation and coding as needed
- Provide support in pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients
- Manage dental records efficiently while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems including Eaglesoft and Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices
- Experience with chairside assisting techniques and four-handed dentistry
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus
- Ability to perform medical imaging tasks and manage medical documentation effectively
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and team members professionally
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred
