Responsibilities:
About the Role
This Technician performs interventions at Customers’ locations, mainly in portable gas detectors, FGFD products, and on SCBAs test benches (SmartCheck). You will perform system start‑ups, preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and customer training at various industrial and emergency‑response sites.This role is a mix of field work, technical problem‑solving, customer interaction, and cooperation with internal teams. Maintenance & Technical Service
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on safety systems within the assigned region.
- Plan and schedule service visits, including preparation of tools, documentation, and safety risk assessments.
- Provide clear and timely service reports.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-site diagnostics and repairs.
- Service multiple product groups (Fixed Flames and Gas Detections, Self Combined Breathing Apparatuses test benches, detection devices, and others per MSA portfolio).
- Manage vehicle stock: forecast spare parts, maintain safety levels, and track inventory.
- Support preparation of service contract quotations with time, parts, and travel estimates.
Start up and commissioning of ETO projects
- Verify customer or subcontractor installations and prepare systems for start‑up.
- Power up, configure, and perform all actions required to meet project and order specifications.
- Conduct Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with the customer and secure final approval.
- Deliver training sessions for end users such as Fire Brigades, Channel Partners, and industrial customers.
- Support the preparation of training quotes, including special requests.
- Prepare training materials and conduct the sessions.
- Coordinate with administration on follow‑up tasks (invoicing, certificates, training documentation).
Warranty and Sales Support
- Resolve warranty and quality issues both in the workshop and at customer sites.
- Support the Sales team during customer appointments with technical guidance and expertise.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Submit Product Concern Forms in line with Quality procedures.
- Provide technical support to customers via phone.
- Participate in projects aimed at improving service processes and daily operations.
Experience (required)
- 2 years in a technical position in an industrial environment
- Self‑driven, focused, customer‑oriented
Experience (preferred)
- 5 years as Field Service engineer
- Instruments/measuring/detection, electromechanics, pneumatics
- Word and Excel advanced
- Education (required)
- Technical degree (5 years secondary school)
- English
Education (preferred)
- Technician or BSC, graduated,
- Electrical or electronic or mechanical - e.g. mechatronic or electronical engineer
Travel
- 90% at Customers / 10% home office/others.
- Estimated driving time 30%
