Field Service Technician – Floor Cleaning Equipment & Autonomous Cleaning Robots

Pay: €35,000.00–€65,000.00 per year

Location: Dublin and East Coast

Job Overview

CleaningMachines.ie is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to provide service, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair support for a wide range of commercial floor cleaning equipment across Dublin and the East Coast.

This role includes working on traditional scrubber dryers, sweepers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning equipment, as well as the latest autonomous scrubber dryers and robotic sweepers. As robotic cleaning technology continues to grow, the successful candidate will receive in-house and manufacturer training to support the installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced autonomous cleaning machines.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician with strong mechanical and electrical ability who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and delivering excellent customer service in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to carry out service, repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on commercial cleaning equipment
  • Service and maintain walk-behind scrubber dryers, ride-on scrubber dryers, sweepers, vacuums, and other commercial cleaning machines
  • Assist with the installation, setup, servicing, and troubleshooting of autonomous scrubber dryers and robotic sweepers
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, battery, water flow, brush, vacuum, and control system faults
  • Carry out routine preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend machine life
  • Communicate professionally with customers to understand issues and provide practical solutions
  • Complete service paperwork, reports, and job records accurately and on time
  • Work closely with the service department to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Maintain stock, tools, parts, and cleanliness of the company-supplied service van
  • Support demonstrations, commissioning, and customer handovers where required
  • Participate in in-house and manufacturer training to stay up to date with new equipment, robotics, and service procedures

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a field service, maintenance, or technical repair role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
  • Experience working on cleaning equipment, plant, agricultural machinery, forklifts, access equipment, catering equipment, or similar machinery would be an advantage
  • A good working knowledge of how machines operate, including motors, pumps, batteries, vac systems, control systems, and general mechanical components
  • Ability to diagnose faults efficiently and complete repairs to a high standard
  • Good communication skills and a professional manner with customers
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own day effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and a practical problem-solving mindset
  • A full clean driving licence is required

Desirable Experience

  • At least 2 years’ field service experience preferred
  • Electrical experience preferred
  • Experience with battery-powered equipment, chargers, sensors, or automated machinery would be an advantage
  • Experience with autonomous equipment, robotics, or smart cleaning technology would be beneficial, though training will be provided
  • Sales, merchandising, or customer-facing experience would also be an advantage
