The Finance Manager / Accounts Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's accounts department and provides support to Company Accountants and Auditors.
Principal Construction, established 25 years ago, is a main building contractor operating in Dublin with a reputation for quality, building excellence and customer service. Our portfolio covers a range of project types, including residential, educational, commercial, industrial, retail and healthcare.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ledger management
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and Revenue
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparing month end, including accruals, pre payments and inter-company charges.
- Ensuring all revenue requirements are met, including RCT/ VAT/PAYE returns
- Provision of project costing and review
- Planning, budgeting and forecasting with cash flow planning
- Assisting with Audits and Year End accounts including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements;
- Fact checks and resolving discrepancies
- Liaise with other departments within the company
Experience and Qualifications
- A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or a highly experienced accountant qualified by experience or Accounting Technician
- Proven working experience with 3 years (minimum) in a similar role in Ireland
Skills:
- Proficient with Sage 50 Accounting (essential)
- Knowledge of Brightpay Payroll would be an advantage
- Good working knowledge of Irish Revenue systems
- Strong IT skills with high level of proficiency in MS Office and in particular Excel
- Strong aptitude for numerical accuracy and a high degree of analytical and problem solving ability
- Excellent capabilities with attention to detail
- Systematic and organised with the ability to prioritise
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively and efficiently
- Proactive, highly motivated and hard working with a positive attitude
- Team player but must be able to work on own initiative and deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent verbal & written English a must

Office based Monday to Friday 8am-4.30pm (Friday 4pm). We are a small team in a busy office just off Capel Street Dublin 7.
Remote working/work from home is not available.
