Finance Manager (Cpa)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the overall financial operations of the construction company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, and compliance with Philippine accounting and tax regulations. The role oversees the accounting, budgeting, treasury, and audit functions, and provides strategic financial guidance to management to support project profitability and company growth. The Accounting and Finance Manager will also ensure that project-related costs, billings, and collections are properly monitored in coordination with project and procurement teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
  • Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure timely submission of BIR returns, tax compliance reports, and other government filings (SEC, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, etc.).
  • Maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets.
  • Prepare financial reports for management and the Board to aid in strategic decision-making.

Construction Cost and Project Accounting:

  • Supervise project accounting activities including job costing, billing, and monitoring of project expenses.
  • Review and validate progress billings, cost estimates, and subcontractor payments.
  • Track project budgets, committed costs, and actual expenses to ensure alignment with contract terms and profitability targets.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Engineers, Procurement, and Operations teams for timely financial reporting of each project.
  • Maintain accurate records of project revenues, retention receivables, and change orders.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Treasury:

  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts for all ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage disbursements, and ensure adequate liquidity for operational and project requirements.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, fund management, and relationships with financial institutions.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, financing options, and cost-saving measures.

Audit, Compliance, and Policy Development:

  • Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely completion of annual audits.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems in compliance with Philippine laws and construction industry standards.
  • Ensure proper documentation and safekeeping of financial and accounting records.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation required for government biddings and accreditations.

Leadership and People Management:

  • Supervise accounting staff and provide training and mentorship to ensure efficient operations.
  • Review and approve journal entries, vouchers, and financial transactions.
  • Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
  • Work closely with management and department heads to achieve company financial goals.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • Should possess a CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT (CPA) LICENSE.
  • At least 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
  • Strong background in project accounting, cost control, and tax compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or construction ERP systems) and MS Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine taxation, PFRS, and construction-related financial processes.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php80,000.00 - Php90,000.00 per month

License/Certification:

  • CPA (Preferred)
