Food Service Manager.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Service Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Food Service Manager must have a diploma or degree in food services management or equivalent (**) from a recognized University or College and five (5) years recent experience (within the last ten (10) years) in the management of food services operations.

The Food Service Manager must also have basic computer skills (i.e. word-processing and e-mail).

Candidates must submit the résumé along with a copy of their degree or diploma in Food Services Management or equivalent (**). .

(**) Equivalent Program is defined as having a post-secondary degree or diploma from a University or College. Hospitality and Culinary Arts preferred.

This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, managing inventory, and maintaining high-quality food preparation and service. The Food Service Manager will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, serving, and cleaning procedures
  • Manage team members through interviewing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Oversee food handling processes to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations
  • Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health codes
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste
  • Lead by example in hospitality, leadership, and teamwork to foster a positive work environment
  • Implement policies related to food safety, sanitation, and quality control
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff on menu planning and special event preparations

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service setting
  • Extensive restaurant management background with knowledge of food industry standards
  • Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling procedures
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms for order processing and cash handling
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently
  • Leadership experience in hospitality or hotel environments is preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations
  • Previous experience working in restaurant environments including barista or hotel experience is advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high standards of service quality

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 60 months

Pay: $17.75-$35.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
