Front End Cashier

Duties

• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges with speed and precision
• Greet customers warmly, assist with product questions, and demonstrate product features or demos when needed
• Manage cash handling responsibilities, including counting cash, giving correct change, and balancing registers at shift end
• Upsell products by suggesting relevant items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Maintain an organized checkout area through merchandising, stocking shelves nearby, and ensuring the front is inviting and tidy
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
• Support store operations by supervising other front-end team members during busy periods and ensuring adherence to store policies

Requirements

• Prior experience with Toast systems and cashiering in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail or restaurant setting is a plus
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette for handling customer interactions professionally
• Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Experience in grocery stores or retail sales environments is advantageous
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and product demos enhances your effectiveness in this role
