Full Time Cook

Overview
We are seeking someone who loves to cook and being surrounded by children. Must have Food Handlers Certificate and First Aid and CPR certificate. Need to have 2-3 years experience. Must be flexible to menu changes, work under a supervisor or alone. Able to maintain a clean kitchen following public health guidelines and Ministry of Education guidelines.

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
• Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration seasonal availability of ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Help train new kitchen staff on food handling procedures and cooking techniques.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Cook in a child care centre, nursing home or food service environment.
• Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Familiarity with various cooking techniques, equipment, and kitchen tools.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
