Your role
As the Global Business Development Manager for the Defense Segment, you will serve as a global connector — aligning regional and divisional efforts, driving strategic projects, and enabling Atlas Copco to bring value the different industries to create strategic partnerships.
Your mission is to develop and execute a global business development strategy that positions Atlas Copco as a trusted partner within the global defense manufacturing ecosystem. You will expand our footprint across strategic defense OEMs, Tier 1, integrators, and emerging platforms by identifying new opportunities, cultivating long-term relationships, and promoting Atlas Copco as strategic business partner.
This role places you at the heart of one of the world’s most demanding and resilient industries. You will collaborate with Atlas Copco teams worldwide and engage across technical, legal, commercial, and executive levels to accelerate customer success, drive consistency, and scale innovations globally
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement a global business development strategy for the defense segment and build long-term relationships with key industry players
- Coordinate globally distributed teams to ensure strategic alignment and consistent value delivery
- Build and lead a global knowledge-sharing network to scale to scale best practices and defense-specific insights
- Collaborate with product companies, R&D, compliance, and marketing to shape product evolution and secure program relevance
- Support sales teams in tenders and negotiations for complex, long-cycle programs
- Create impactful sales tools and communication materials tailored to the defense sector
- Foster a collaborative and learning-oriented culture across the global defense community
- Support regional teams in implementing defense strategies and customer engagement plans.
- Act as a global ambassador for the defense business, promoting alignment, visibility, and collaboration.

To succeed, you will need
We’re looking for someone who combines technical know-how with a global business mindset. If you recognize yourself in most of these points, we’d love to hear from you:
- Experience in defense, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, or high-tech B2B sectors
- Proven track record in business development, segment strategy, or strategic account management
- Strong familiarity with assembly systems, tightening solutions, and digital quality
- Understanding of defense procurement cycles, government programs, and compliance frameworks
- Experience supporting complex tenders and long-term programs with both commercial and technical dimensions
- Ability to coordinate globally distributed teams and work across functions (sales, R&D, legal, marketing, service)
- Financial acumen to evaluate business cases, and performance metrics
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement across technical and executive levels
- Self-driven and structured, with high ownership and accountability

Job location
You will preferably be located in Stockholm, Sweden although there may be flexibility dependent upon experience. To fulfill your mission, you’ll travel frequently.
