Graduate Structural Engineer

We have a new opportunity for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our small dynamic team in Queenstown. We’ll start developing your design skills from day one, as you gain experience working across an interesting and complex range of projects both regionally and nationally.

We are a multi-disciplinary consultancy, so you’ll gain exposure to other aspects of what makes a great building. If you want to work in a progressive environment, working as part of a collaborative and experienced team, then we would like to hear from you.

About the role

As a Graduate Engineer with us, we will support, develop, and establish your knowledge across residential, commercial and industrial projects. You will be working closely with our Senior Structural Engineer on engineering design and will effectively contribute to: -

• Establishing design criteria

• Preparation of preliminary and detailed designs

• Detailed structural calculations

• Communicating information to the design team and checking that the documents reflect the design

• Undertaking site inspections and investigations of simple structures

• Project administration and management

• Working with our design teams including engineers, draughting, and external consultants, and clients

About you

• Qualified with a BEng (Hons) in Structural Engineering, or equivalent

• If you have 2 years+ experience in a similar role this would be an advantage

• Adaptable with a keen eye for detail, excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills

• A natural problem solver, with a positive attitude and willingness to grow

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients, as well as lead and contribute to project delivery

• Enjoy working in a team environment and communicating with a wide range of people
