Grain Elevator Operations Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a Grain Elevator Operations Specialist and become a vital part of our agricultural and food production operations! In this energetic role, you will oversee the safe and efficient handling, storage, and transportation of grain, hops, and other agricultural commodities. Your expertise will ensure smooth daily operations at the grain elevator, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment, support farming communities, and contribute to the vital and beverage food supply chain.

Duties

  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, tankers, and other machinery to load, unload, and transport grain and raw materials within the facility
  • Manage the movement of grain through various stages of storage, cleaning, drying, and shipping processes
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure safety compliance and operational efficiency
  • Assist with the maintenance and minor repairs of mechanical systems involved in grain handling and processing
  • Coordinate with trucking companies for the safe loading and unloading of commodities using commercial driving skills
  • Monitor quality control parameters during food processing activities to meet industry standards
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, equipment usage, and safety inspections

Requirements

  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, tankers, or similar machinery
  • Background in manufacturing, agriculture, or food processing environments preferred
  • Valid forklift certification; experience with tanker trucks is a plus
  • Familiarity with farming practices or agricultural operations is highly desirable
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols related to food production and grain handling
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or experience with commercial driving preferred
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings or weekends as needed
