Groundskeeper / Maintenance Technician (Full-Time)

About the Role:

Delphi Academy of Florida is a private, non-sectarian, competency-based Preschool - High School in Clearwater, Florida. We have doubled our enrollment and student body over the last few years with a large waiting list of families to enter our school. We are seeking a dependable and skilled Groundskeeper / Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position with regular weekday hours and occasional overtime. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping tasks to help keep our school facilities safe, clean, and functional.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general groundskeeping duties, including lawn care, landscaping, debris removal, and outdoor maintenance
• Assemble and install furniture and equipment
• Complete light repairs and maintenance tasks, including basic painting and carpentry
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with basic plumbing and HVAC tasks (experience preferred, licensing not required)
• Respond to facility maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Identify maintenance issues and proactively suggest or implement solutions
• Collaborate with staff and leadership to maintain a safe, well-kept campus

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or general handyman work
• Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in basic repairs and upkeep
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including Florida heat
• Physically able to lift, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks on a regular basis
• Strong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset
• Team player with a strong work ethic and a dependable attitude
• HVAC and/or plumbing experience a plus (licensure not required)

Work Environment:

This role involves regular outdoor work, physical labor, and occasional use of ladders or power tools. The employee must be able to work safely and responsibly in varying weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
