Self Employed Hairdresser for Senior Living Community - Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate self-employed Hairdresser for our senior living community at Baldwin House Lansing. This position is a self-employed service where Baldwin House will rent the salon space to you starting at $100/mo. You will charge our residents directly and will provide exceptional hair care services, including cutting, coloring, and styling, while ensuring a positive experience for our residents. As a Hairdresser in a senior living community, you will utilize your creativity and technical skills to enhance the beauty and confidence of our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in cosmetology and barbering, along with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Rental fee to use the salon space in our senior living community of $100/month (to start). Rental fee negotiations will occur if utilizing the space to more than 2 days/week.
• Clients will come from the residents who reside in Baldwin House Lansing community. You can have outside clients come into the space for service as well. from the outside would be ok;
• Days/Hours are flexible.
• Perform hair cutting, coloring, and styling services tailored to individual client needs.
• Experiencing working with a diverse range of hair types and textures for all residents who may live or visit there for salon service.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with salon regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to client preferences and offering professional advice.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in hair styling for seniors.

Qualifications

• Minimal insurance is required (even a small professional liability policy – i.e., up to $10K).
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with senior clients.
• Compassion for older adults.

Job Type: Contract
