Launching NOVA, a new upscale-casual dining destination in North Vancouver, and are seeking a talented and driven Head Chef to lead our kitchen and support culinary operations across our growing group. This is a unique opportunity to join a brand at an early stage and play a key role in shaping its culinary identity, systems, and long-term success.
NOVA is a modern West Coast concept built around premium ingredients, globally inspired flavours, and polished yet approachable hospitality. The menu will focus on high-quality steaks, fresh seafood, and elevated share plates, delivering a refined yet welcoming dining experience.
The Opportunity
As Head Chef, you will lead the day-to-day kitchen operations at our North Vancouver location while working closely with ownership and senior leadership to execute the culinary vision of the NOVA brand.
You will play a key role in opening the restaurant, building your team, and ensuring consistency, quality, and performance from day one.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee all kitchen operations at the North Vancouver location
- Execute and maintain menu standards in alignment with the NOVA concept
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and timing across all services
- Support menu development and assist in rolling out new features and seasonal updates
- Recruit, train, and lead a strong kitchen team
- Manage food cost, labour cost, inventory, and ordering
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards
- Work closely with front-of-house leadership to deliver a seamless guest experience
- Assist with pre-opening setup, training, and systems implementation
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in an upscale or high-volume restaurant
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Solid understanding of food cost, labour management, and kitchen systems
- Passion for quality ingredients and consistent execution
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, organized, and hands-on
- Experience in the BC hospitality industry is an asset
