Department Information
The Office of Health Care Affordability (OHCA) has three primary responsibilities: slowing health care spending growth, monitoring health system performance, and assessing market consolidation. OHCA was created in an effort to slow rising health care spending, and the work of this office will make a tangible difference in making health care more affordable. - Statement of Qualifications -
To be considered for this position, you must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). Type your response, which must be no more than 2 pages, Arial font at least size 11. Respond to the following questions, and include the questions in your response:
- Describe how your knowledge, skills, education, and work experience qualify you for this position. Include examples related to health program administration or policy development, particularly in primary care.
- Provide examples of your experience conducting data analysis or research related to health care delivery, administration, or policy. Highlight how you have utilized data to inform decision-making, develop reports, and contribute to public-facing dashboards/visualizations.
- Describe your experience collaborating with external stakeholders. Include any examples of how you have collaborated with health care providers, plans, or state agencies. Explain the role you played in supporting project goals or policy implementation.
Desirable Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in health program administration, with at least 2 years involving major responsibility for a significant program.
- Experience engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience conducting data analysis and research.
- Experience developing, implementing, or evaluating health-related policies or programs.
- Experience in preparing clear and concise reports, memos, and presentations based on data analysis and policy research.
- Experience with data visualization and/or creating public-facing dashboards.
- Subject matter knowledge of primary care sector, health workforce, health care delivery system and state health policy.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in health program administration, with at least 1 year involving major responsibility for a significant program.
- Experience engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience conducting data analysis and research.
- Experience developing, implementing, or evaluating health-related policies or programs.
- Experience in preparing clear and concise reports, memos, and presentations based on data analysis and policy research.
