About this Role:
The HPS II performs research and analyses for a variety of fiscal related work in the areas of finance, budgets, eligibility, and special projects. Review documents, provide technical assistance, interpret and apply Federal, State, and program policies and procedures to internal and external stakeholders. Serves as a point of contact for department executive management and staff; external stakeholders such as advocates, beneficiaries, legislative staff; and federal and other state agencies on Division fiscal and program performance measures.

- This position requires the incumbent to possess a broad knowledge, and experience in matters relating to Medicaid federal claiming as it pertains to Title XIX and Title XXI. Please give an example(s) of your experience with activities relating to federal claiming in a Medicaid program.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel. Please give examples of your experience in manipulating complicated datasets or reporting in Excel. What type of data was it, what formulas and features of Excel were necessary to complete your work, who was the intended audience for the information and what were the difficulties you encountered in producing this work?
- This position requires the incumbent to work independently on high-profile profile projects visible to and tracked by executive management. Please give an example(s) of your experience being responsible on a high-profile project(s). What was the project? What were the milestones or metrics used to track progress? How did you convey success or completion of exercises i.e. dashboard, presentation, report etc.?

- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Broad understanding of general accounting concepts
- Wide breadth and depth of understanding of the Medi-Cal and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Sytems (CMS) relationship including Title XIX and XXI
