Hiring Associate Lawyer (Spanish Speaker)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Lawyer with 2+ years of direct experience in immigration and refugee law. The ideal candidate will be able to independently manage a diverse caseload, appear regularly before the IRB (RPD, RAD, IAD), and draft compelling legal submissions. This is a strong fit for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment and shares our commitment to client-centered representation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients before the IRB (including RPD, RAD, and IAD) and Federal Court (if applicable)
• Prepare and file H&C applications, PRRAs, sponsorships, appeals, inadmissibility responses, and other immigration filings
• Conduct legal research, prepare written submissions, and review disclosure
• Liaise with clients, interpreters, community organizations, and government officials
• Manage and bill Legal Aid Ontario certificates

Qualifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Minimum 2 years of experience in immigration and refugee law (firm experience required)
• Fluency in Spanish is required
• Must be on the Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) Immigration and Refugee Services roster
• Strong knowledge of IRPA, IRPR, and procedural fairness standards
• Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume caseload and appearing before the IRB
• Excellent legal drafting and client communication skills

Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
