Bar Franco is a modern Italian restaurant and cocktail bar in the heart of Christchurch, known for its vibrant energy, seasonal menus, and lively private events. We are on the lookout for a dedicated Food and Beverage Manager to lead our front-of-house team and help drive great service, smooth operations, and strong team culture.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident managing service and people - someone who enjoys supporting a team, keeping things organised, and making sure guests leave smiling.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily floor operations and lead service across lunch, dinner, and events
• Support and guide FOH staff with clear service expectations and consistent feedback
• Manage bookings, floor plans, and coordination of large group logistics
• Organise weekly rosters and ensure smooth shift planning
• Maintain high standards of presentation, guest experience, and team conduct
• Ensure general compliance with workplace policies
• Assist with ordering and stock management as needed
• Collaborate with the kitchen to ensure seamless service delivery
• Help foster a supportive, professional, and welcoming work environment

Skills and Experience Required

• NZQCF Diploma, or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification
• Proven leadership in hospitality, with experience guiding and supporting teams through service
• Confidence managing team performance, giving clear direction, and leading by example
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with a professional and personable manner
• A proactive, organised approach to managing bookings, shift planning, and guest flow
• Familiarity with POS systems, stock processes, and daily operational reporting
• A calm, solutions-focused attitude under pressure
• Fluent English and excellent interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
